CCS / IWR1843: Compensation value problem

Part Number: IWR1843

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

I used 68XX_high_accuracy_lab to work on iwr1843board  after appropriate modification, of course, I have not made any modification to the algorithm code. Our iwr1843 board is a new antenna, no longer using TI antenna. In the FFT diagram, there is a large gap between the values on the GUI and the actual measured values.Condition: When the chirped bandwidth is 4G, the FFT library is about 4cm.Example: The actual measurement is 0.75m, the GUI display is 0.8433949m, the difference between the two is about 0.096m.Why is this happening?

profileCfg 0 77 7 7 114.4 0 0  33.71 1 512 5000 0 0 48

The above is the configuration of a Chirp. Does the new antenna have anything to do with RX Gain? What is the formula for their relationship?

  • Hello,

Hope it clear form the user's guide that  68XX_high_accuracy_lab  is meant for IWR68xx device/EVM and not IWR18xx equivalent.

In order to get the improvement in measurement accuracy, please try the Out of Box demo with the calibration steps mentioned in the SDK User'g guide.

When you try the exact chirp TI's EVM for the same device what are your measurements - this will help us understand if difference is related to custom board. (Please do calibration step before this measurement)

    Thank you,

    Vaibhav
