XDS560 configuration file for OMAP3730 for CCS3.3

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAP3530, DM3730

When asked about the config file for OMAP3730, I was pointed to the link http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/OMAP_and_Sitara_CCS_support#GEL_Files_3 . But it has no configuration file for XDS560. Also empty under the CCS4.1x. Any other place ?

  • Yushi,

I was using OMAP3730 today.  I just used the SD510 configuration file from that link and changed the connection to the emulator I was using.

Take the file from that site and put it in the <username>\user\CCSTargetConfigurations (the exact location varies depending on what version of windows you are running).

    John

  • Thanks. Tried but failed. Two problems:

    1. The emulator I use is SEED-XDS560PLUS, which is compatible to TI XDS560. That link only has .ccs file for SD510. CCS setup complained "Error automatically generating board data file: An invalid router family was specified.

    2. I need to work on the DSP side so it should not be a bypass device.

  • Yushu,

I apologize, I gave you the instructions for CCSv4.  One of the advantages of CCSv4 is that you can take an existing target configuration and simply change which emulator you are using.  In CCSv3.3 this is just not possible.

Unfortunately in CCSv3.3 if you don't have a pre-built configuration you have to build it from scratch, which is challenging for a device like OMAP3730.  Does your CCS installation have a configuration for OMAP3530 or OMAP3430 for XDS560?  My install has one for OMAP3530.   If so it would be easiest to start with that, you could then compare the settings between the SD510 configuration for OMAP3730 with the settings for the 560 & OMAP3530.  They will likely be very similar and may not need any changes check the addresses listed on the icepick subpaths.

    Regards,

    John

  • John,

I don't have the configuration for OMAP3530 or any other OMAP3 for XDS560. I was told that I can just use the one for OMAP3530 which is the same for OMAP3730. But too bad. :(

Could you please share with me the one you have for OMAP3530? I will try my luck with that.

    Thanks,

    Yushu

  • Yushu,

Here is a zip of my file.  it goes in drivers\import

You will need to import the file in cc_setup, it won't show up automatically.

  • Thanks John.

I will also need the gel files you use, such as omap3430es2_icepick.gel, omap3430_c64plus.gel, omap3430_cs_dsp_pc.gel.

  • Yushu,

Here are all the OMAP3 gel files from my cc\gel folder

  • John,

I got a loaner SD XDS510 emulator and downloaded the XDS510 config file from the link mentioned before. I reinstalled CCS3.3 with patch CCS_v3.3_SR9_79.exe. Now when I tried to import the .ccs file, it complained "Error automatically generating board data file.: There must be one and only one period as the seperator in the variable name." Any clue what may cause this?

    Thanks,

    Yushu

  • Hi,

I am also getting the same error with CCSv3.3 and DM3730 configuration file, can someone help?

    Thanks.
