CCS/AWR1443BOOST: RTOS and SDK application using CCS project and not RTSC

Part Number: AWR1443BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1443, AWR1642BOOST

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hello,

I have a project running on AWR1443, based on the demo application.
My question is: I would like to use a normal CCS project instead of an RTSC project to avoid having dependencies to some packages installation (SDK, BIOS...). So the other developers will not need to install all the packages again. The goal would be to have one unique folder with all the sources needed to compile the project. I want to avoid problem like : "project not compiling because wrong version of BIOS installed".

Is it possible to do that ?

Thanks

  • Hello,

If I understand correctly, you wish to convert the current RTSC  based demo program to a completely standalone (no dependencies on other packages) non-RTSC based one?

    Thanks

    ki

  • Yes exactly, converting the original RTSC project or creating a new one. But as you said, completely standalone.

  • You cannot convert an existing RTSC project to a non-RTSC project. You will have to start from scratch to create a new non-RTSC project.

As for creating a completely standalone project with no dependencies, that may involve quite a bit of work. I will bring this thread to the attention of the device experts. They will know best on what would be involved to do that.

    Thanks

    ki

  • Hi,

When installing the SDK all the required packages will be installed as well. So you should not be concerned about not including the correct package.

Creating a simple CCS project without SDK  is possible but only achievable with a deep understanding of the interrupt handler and other modules inside the device.

Our team has provided a nonOS example running on AWR1642BOOST evm in the Automotive Toolbox available on the TI Resources Explorer.

After downloading the Automotive Toolbox, please look at the following:

    mmwave_automotive_toolbox_#_#_#\labs\lab0006_nonos_oob_16xx

This example does not use TI RTOS but still uses the SDK

    thank you

    Cesar

  • Thank you, I will take a look into the non-os project.
Is it really needed to use an RTOS for a project similar to the demo project, without CLI, with static sensor configuration, same data path task as in demo code and small processing of detected objects ?

  • Hi,

No, using RTOS is not needed as shown in the nonOS project.

However using RTOS makes things easier

    thank you
