Compiler/TMS320F280025: strange section in ".map" file after setting opt_level to 4

Part Number: TMS320F280025

Tool/software: TI C/C++ Compiler

Hello Champs,

In F280025 codes if setting opt_level to 4 and opt_for_speed to 2, there will be below strange section in generated ".map" file:

C:\Users\(User name)\AppData\Local\Temp\

{6283D7A5-F081-4A0B-830B-0EF6CC9E369D} 0 171 0

+--+----------------------------------------+------+---------+---------+

Total: 0 171 0

While if setting opt_level to 3 and opt_for_speed to 2, there will be no such section.

CGT version is 20.8.0_STS and CCS version is 10.1.0.

Would you please kindly help? Thanks!

Best Regards,

Linda

  • Please get some background on --opt_level=4 by searching the C28x compiler manual for the sub-chapter titled Link-Time Optimization.

    ... is an automatically generated object file.  It is temporary.  It only appears when performing link-time optimization.  It is removed when compilation is complete.

    Thanks and regards,
