CCS/LAUNCHXL-F28027F: Code Composer Studio not seeing Device

I have downloaded the latest CCS software however when I go onto Resource Explorer it cannot find or detect my board. The driver pops up on Device Manager and indicates that the driver is working as it should. I have the same problem on various computers

Hi Darnell,

Auto-detect is not supported with all launchpads. I don't believe the older 28x launchpads with the integrated XDS100 are. I'll need to confrim and get back to you

So if auto-detect is not supported by all devices how do i know if the target device is connected cause even when i select my device I still get noting to suggest its communicating with the program.

Auto-detect does not actually connect the debugger to the device. All it does is read an ID on the debug probe itself.

You would need a target connection when you wish to launch a debug session for the device.
