CCS/RM57L843: I cannot install an ARM compiler on CCS studio

Hi,

I installed the version of CCS 10.1 on a new PC to design on the RM57 microcontroller.

When I want to create a new project I have the following error:

No compilers are currently installed for this device-family. Click 'View > CCS App Center' to install a compiler before creating a project for this device.

There is no compiler installed on CCS studio.

From the view App Center I installed the TI ARM Compiler and reboot the machine but the problem is still there.

What can I do?

Jerome,

If you go to the preferences dialog in CCS and navigate to here does it list the compiler?

There should been Arm compilers installed when CCS was installed. If support for Hercules was selected during installation then I would expect the 20.2.x compiler to be present.

If the compiler is not listed is the location of it listed in the top part of the dialog? If not try adding it and then click the refresh button.

Thanks very much for your help.

I installed again CCS with the product Hercules selected.

But in the compiler windows I got the following:

I add the ARM compiler with this button and the problem is still there.

What can I do else?

If you look in C:\ti\ccs1011\ccs\tools\compiler are there any compilers present?

Ok. Looks like they are getting installed ok. I will need to ask around to see what could be going on.

Hi Jerome,

Have you tried clicking on the Refresh button on the Preferences > CCS > Build > Compilers page?

Also, could you please attach your <workspace>/.metadata/.log file?

Hi Baltasar,
I installed with the same file (ccs_setup_10.1.1.00004) on another computer, The system asked for a reboot before launch CCS and after all worked fine.
On the PC with the issue it does not ask for a reboot before launch CCS. Furthermore I had a password on bios on that machine.
I removed the bios password.
I installed again CCS and I canceled the first launch to force the reboot of the machine.
Then I launched the CCS and all is OK now.
