CCS/TMS320F28379D: Unable to set breakpoint in CCS V10

Dear TI experts,

I am unable to set a breakpoint in CCS V10. It seems, as if both "breakpoints" and "hardware breakpoints" are ignored. I am sure that the code where the breakpoint is set, is executed. To me it seems, as if this problem is related with CCS V10, since breakpoints worked fine with CCS V6 and CCS V8. I can remember that there might be a workaround by setting some bits in a register called "ANASTOP", but I cannot find any information about this register. Can you provide information on how setting breakpoints in CCS V10?

the button "skip all breakpoints" is not enabled.

I think in CCS V10 breakpoints cannot be enabled in the same way as in CCS V8, to me the problem seems to be related to CCS V10. I vaguely remember that there was a workaround to enable breakpoints anyway by setting some bits in the "ANASTOP" register, but I cannot find any information about it. Do you know anything about it?

I am not aware of any ANASTOP workaround. Breakpoints work perfectly fine with CCSv10.1.1 on my F28377D target. Do you have the issue with other targets? If so, can you provide a small test case (simple project with source and generated *.out file)?

Hi ki,

finally I found the related issue I was looking for:

It seems it is only related to HW-breakpoints. Writing a "1" into the ANASTOP value solves the issue.

Ah, I see. My 10.1.1 has the EMU pack with the fix (I installed separately). That explains why I did not see it. The EMU pack will be officially part of the upcoming 10.2.0 release coming later this month (hopefully).
