CCS/MMWAVEICBOOST: XDS110 firmware downgrade required

Part Number: MMWAVEICBOOST

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hello,

I'm using the overhead_mount_occupancy demo. The user guide mentions that XDS110 firmware needs to downgrade to version 2.3.0.18.

It says if the XDS110 FW is not 2.3.0.18, the packet may lose. After I downgraded the FW, but the system would require to upgrade XDS110 FW to the latest version (I'm using CCS 10.1.1 ver.) when I used CCS debug. If I canceled the requirement of the upgrade information, I could not use CCS debug until I upgrade XDS110 FW.

Here are my questions,

1. Is the data obviously lose if we do not downgrade the XDS110 FW to version 2.3.0.18?

2. How can we continue to use CCS debug if we downgrade the XDS110  FW?

Best regrades,

Jack

  • Jack,

For #1 I am going to need to send the thread to the Radar team.  I am not sure if the issue in the firmware is resolved or not.  It could be that it is old information and that the latest version is fine.  Looking at bugs that have been fixed recently and I do see one that is related to UART corruption that was reported by the radar team.  That issue is fixed in the latest firmware that comes with CCS.  Thus personally I would try the latest.  I will forward the thread to the Radar team.

As far as #2 that is a pretty old firmware so CCS is going to force you to upgrade.

    Regards,

    Jon

  • John,

    Thanks for your response.

    Hi Jack,

I tested the latest XDS110 firmware installed as mandatory auto firmware upgrade by CCS 10.1.1 on my MMWAVEISBOOST and do not see any packet loss in the overhead people counting demo. The firmware version installed by CCS v 10.1.1 is shown below.

We will perform some more testing and if we do not see any packet loss then we will remove/modify the firmware downgrade pre-requisite accordingly. Thanks.

    Regards
