CCS/OMAP-L138: Edit/View Existing RTSC Platform

Part Number: OMAP-L138

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hello TI,

There is a platform already created by another developer in my OMAPL138-ARM project. I was using it, but then I needed to change the memory map. I realized that in order to change an EXISTING platform, you need to go File -> New -> View/Edit RTSC Platform (see below).

Doesn't it make sense to use "File -> Import" menu instead of "File -> New" menu. Because the platform already exists and for existing stuff, we normally use "Import" (example below).

I am using CCS 7.4.0. Please ignore this issue, if you already fixed it in the newer CCS versions.

Regards,

Hakan

  • Hello,

The links to your screenshots are broken. See the below FAQ for a potential reason why:

I don't see this option with my 7.4.0 install. I need to "Other" before I can access that option. However, the more common way to access it is via the 'Projects' menu:

It is still the same in current CCS versions. Your request is a valid one, though to be honest this will likely not get addressed since we recommend people access the option from the 'Projects' menu and the RTSC platform editor is not being actively maintained.

    Thanks

  • Hello Ki,

Thanks. I updated the pictures in my first post. I was not aware of "Project -> RTSC Tools -> Platfrom -> Edit/View" path that you mentioned. I opened the same window by "File -> New -> View/Edit RTSC Platform" path.

I believe that editing already existing platform using "File -> New" menu, makes no sense to me.

    Thanks anyway.

Yes, agreed. "Import" would indeed make more sense.
