CCS/MSP-FET: Error Initializing Emulator: A firmware update is required for MSP430 Debug Interface

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

When Running the Code Debug in CCS version 6 it works perfectly.

However, when we do the same in CCS version 9 it throws the following error.

I have not Updated this yet as i want to run the MSP-FET430UIF Debugger Interface on both platforms.

Will updating the firmware cause compatibility issues?

Moreover, how do i proceed with this issue?

Also How do I perform a roll back if this update causes some issues?

If you update the firmware in CCSv9 then the next time you run CCSv6 it will prompt you to update the firmware and will program the firmware that is compatible with CCSv6. Basically each time you switch between v6 and v9 it is going to prompt to update the firmware.
