Hi guys,

how can I use SPICE LIB available here (http://www.ti.com/product/TPS5430) to run simulate with ALTIUM DESIGNER?

I know 'switcherpro' but my problem is another. I need to add the TPS5430 TI-spice model into ALTIUM DESIGNER.

I need to generate ".ckt " file to run the simulation.

Someone did it?

Giacomo,

The PSpice .lib file is encrypted and can only be used in PSpice version 15.7 or higher. You can also use TINA-TI (the free simulator that TI supplies) to simulate the device. The device is also supported in WEBENCH(R) Power Designer.

If you must use Altium for your simulation, you will need the unencrypted PSpice model that Altium can load. You will still have to draw the circuit in Altium. If you have a direct TI support contact, they may request the unencrypted model for you. If not, please follow the instructions in the following post:

He will try to enable the export of the simulation files from WEBENCH to Altium for this part. I will get back to you when it is done.

for now I don't know how to run simulation.

Webench is great but I need .ckt file for altium to study into an integrated development environment. If it's impossible I will use webench.

Hi Giacomo,

We have now enabled the export of the model from WEBENCH to Altium Designer. Please find attached the instructions. The instructions are for exporting this from WEBENCH to TINA-TI, but the same can be used for exporting the simulations to Altium Designer as well.
