PMP6812: What is the purpose of J5 and J3

Part Number: PMP6812

Hi team

Good day

What is the purpose of J5 and J3 on this board? For my application I need 12V 2A. I am using this design but making it as small as possible so I am trying to figure out if I need J5 and J3 or is it just something included for the example PCB. Thanks. I am already using the schematic and thats where I saw that these two connectors dont seem to be so important to the schematic, can you please ask an engineer about this?

Regards

Aosker

  • Hi, Aosker,

J3 provides the option for a 48V adapter input on the primary side if PoE is not available.  J5 is the optional T2P signal output.  T2P pulls low if a Type 2 PSE is connected to the PoE input or if a 48V adapter is connected to the J3 input.  Both are optional and not required.

    Thanks,

    David
