PSPICE-FOR-TI: Installation doesn't complete

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PSPICE-FOR-TI

I am trying to install PSPICE for TI (2021.1), but I am having difficulty.  I downloaded the installer, PSpice-For-TI_setup.exe, and when I ran this application, I only saw a splash screen for a few seconds, and then it disappeared.  PSPICE for TI did not install.  I am running Windows 10 Enterprise.  The problem I am having is very similar to:

https://e2e.ti.com/support/tools/simulation-hardware-system-design-tools-group/sim-hw-system-design/f/simulation-hardware-system-design-tools-forum/951318/pspice-for-ti_setup-failing-to-install

I have tried a few other things without success:

  1. My Local Security Policy > Security Options > ‘System Cryptography: Use FIPS compliant algorithms for encryption, hashing and signing   is Disabled.
  2. https://cdsplicwc.cadence.com/chws/test/connection.html shows "Successful connection".
  3. There is no "cdsPspiceTIlog.txt" in the directory "%appdata%\Cadence\PSpiceTIInstall".
  4. I ran nslookup cdsplicwc.cadence.com in a Command Prompt window. It came back with a server address.

Thank you for your help.

  • Hello Wade,

Are you installing on your own account with user privileges (no admin privileges)? If not, please try this way because PSpice for TI installation must be done by the user without special privileges.

Do any other accounts have PSpice for TI installed on the same machine?

Could you please share a screenshot with the contents of "%appdata%\Cadence\PSpiceTIInstall?

    Thank you,

    Jackie

  • I was taken out of the Administrators local group.  I rebooted and then tried to execute PSpice-For-TI_setup.exe.  That did not help.  PSPICE did not install.

I do not know if other co-workers have PSPICE for TI installed.  I can ask.

Here is the contents of PSPICETIInstall:

  • Hello Wade,

Thank you for the information. Please do find out if anyone else has installed on the same machine. PSpice for TI only supports one installation per machine. I will ask the developer about your situation and let you know their response.

In the mean time, could you possibly share the output of the nslookup cdsplicwc.cadence.com command?

    Thank you,

    Jackie

  • Jackie,

I don't believe anyone else has installed PSPICE for TI on this laptop.

I will give you part of the nslookup output:

    Non-authoritative answer:
    Name: cdsplicwc.cadence.com
    Address: 64.207.220.106

Some other users have what seems to be similar issues.  I included those links in my original post.  In one case, a file was offered.  In a second case, it looks like there is a way to do the installation in a cmd window.  Do you have knowledge of what was offered in those cases?

    Thanks,

    Wade

  • Hi Wade,

Thank you. I will let you know what the developer recommends.

  • Hello Wade,

Please confirm that you have restarted your machine after installation. Additionally, I am going to contact you using this forum's private messaging system. Please accept the request. The software developer, Cadence, would like to discuss this issue with you and would like your contact information.

    Thank you,

    Jackie

  • Yes, I rebooted after installation.  PSPICE for TI is not installed, that I can tell.

  • Thank you Wade. Please accept my friend request through this forum and I will get you in touch with the developer.

  • Hello,

I will be closing this ticket.  Wade has reported to Cadence that the issue was resolved by a group policy change with his company's IT department.

    Thank you,

    Jackie
