PSPICE-FOR-TI: Simulation error with TI THS3491?

Part Number: PSPICE-FOR-TI
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: THS3491

Team,

Customer is seeing the below simulation error and the simulation is not performed.
-Could you please double check and advise?

I can provide the schematics (.opj, .dsn) offline if needed.
-Could you please try to run the AC analysis of this circuit and share the results in the post?

Warning,Electrical,WARNING(ORCAP-2445): Instance U1: SCHEMATIC1, PAGE1 (4.70, 3.20).  not found in the configured libraries.,/U1,SCHEMATIC1, PAGE1  (4.70, 3.20),PAGE1,SCHEMATIC1\

Thanks in advance!

  • Hello A.,

The error seems to be a library issue when importing netlist rather than a circuit problem. I just checked PSpice for TI and the THS3491 is not yet in the Pspice for TI internal library. So, this must have been an imported model or using the Pspice project from the device product folder. In that case, when running simulations on "imported" symbols, you would need to include the netlist within the library of the simulation window. This video starting at 2:45 will explain how to configure the libraries for "external" devices.

    Thanks!

  • Hi Sima,

    Thanks!

    See next error below:

ERROR(ORPSIM-16583): Detected an imported model containing transistors or diodes.

For such models, PSpice for TI supports a minimum of one and maximum of three traces.

Reduce the number of traces and simulate again.

It does not seem that the limit is exceeded so the error message is confusing...
The model is enclosed as .txt file. Please rename it as .zip in order to open it.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Hello A.,

You can ignore this error message. The simulation should work as intended, but the software automatically sends out this error message as a warning to limit the simulation to three traces. Unfortunately, we know this model isn't technically external. We are still working on importing our devices into this new software.

    Thanks!
    Sima

  • Hi AnBer, It was a problem with the model name in the curated library's netlist for this part. The netlist called the model "THS3491RGT" instead of  "THS3491" and therefore PSPICE could not find it. I have corrected this error in the library, please update the library and try again.
