PSPICE-FOR-TI: Installation of PSpice for TI failed

I downloaded and used the received Key for installation of PSpice for TI. Installation went well with no errors displayed.

However, there was no shortcut left on the desktop. Looking through the list of programs I found a "PSpice for TI" folder containing no capture, pspice or other executable program, only the "PSpice for TI Help".

To me it seems that the installation was not fully finalized but again no error display was shown.

What to do??

Windows 10 64 bit, 12Gb RAM, 90Gb free disk space, 2.8GHz Intel i7.

Hello Kristian,

Did you install PSpice for TI yourself with regular user privileges? If your IT department or someone else performs the installation, it can cause a licensing issue. Installing with administrator privileges can also cause trouble.

Is PSpice for TI installed on any other user's account for the same machine? Do you have the full commercial version of Orcad installed? Thanks for your quick answer.

I installed PSpice for TI with regular privileges and there is only my account on my PC.

I could not find the cdsPspiceTIlog.txt file, but found InstLogSpb08282021_100948.txt instead. Looking through this file I could see several wrong listings coming from an very old PSpice installation even though it was uninstalled. To me it seems like PSpice looks in the registry database and thus uses wrong/old information.

So here is what I did:

Uninstalled PSpice for TI, manually deleted all remaining directories from the installation, used the Registry Editor and manually deleted over 100 old PSpice entries, searched C:\ for and deleted all files contaning Cadence or PSpice, rebooted and installed PSpice for TI again.

It now seems to work fine :0)

I serached the registry for "cadence" and "pspice" and deleted those entries. Some of them listed something with 9.1 so I assume it was remains form an old student version. I have had my stationary PC for quite some years and I can't remember when I uninstalled pspice.
