TIDA-00792: Implementing indicator LEDs for balancing

HI,

can somebody suggest a circuit for adding balancing indicator LEDs for each channel to the AFE? (To see which cell is balanced)?

Hi Achim,

The BQ77915EVM has LEDs to indicate which cells are balancing. You could look at that schematic as a reference. https://www.ti.com/tool/BQ77915EVM-014

Hi Matt,

thanks for the quick response! I‘m using balancing with external N-MOSFETs. Should I connect the cathode side also to Cx of the Chip or to the drain of the external mostet?

This reference design using BQ76930 with external balancing NFETs is helpful: https://www.ti.com/tool/TIDA-00449 You can connect to the BQ77915 similarly.
