PMP9253: Newer reference design for replacement of PMP9253

Part Number: PMP9253
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PMP11012

Hello,

We are working on one of our C2000 EVM which requires isolated power supply with similar or improved specification as reference design PMP9253 (Vin(typ) = 48VDC (max 60V), Vout = 5V, Iout = 3A).

Do you have any other new replacement or newer suggestion for this refernece design or this existing solution is good to go?

Regards,

Sumit

  • Hi Sumit,

The PMP9253 design will work fine for your application. If you want improved efficiency PMP11012 can offer that, but is only good for 12.5W.

    Thanks,

    Robert

  • Thanks Robert for help! We will go for PMP11012. We need current little above 2A in worst case. We were just adding saftety factor of 1A but 0.5A is also fine sicne its EVM. Looks like it has smaller footprint and higher efficiency with better thermal performance than PMP9253.

  • Hello,

Question - Is it possible to get the hardware design guide (calculation, component, guidelines, etc) for PMP11012 reference design suggeted in this post?

    Reference Design PMP11012 with link - https://www.ti.com/tool/PMP11012.

We would like to verify calcualtion/compoenets values for possible replacement and eventually modify the design to suite our need. There is no design guide/manual on the reference design page. If you have one (in whatever stage/condition it may be), then please share with me on Ti email. It will help expediting our development.

    Regards,

    Sumit
