TIDA-010030: V load dection

Part Number: TIDA-010030
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ76200

Hi, TI team

Where is V load_detected measured ? (Figure 12. MSP430 MCUTM Firmware Program Flow Chart of Design guide)

I know that V load_detected is measured at CHG pin of BQ7694003.

But in TIDA-010030, CHG pin is connected to BQ76200.

Best regards

  • Hi,

V load_detected is a threshold to determine if a load is attached to TIDA-010030. It assumes that your load has a huge cap. So if no load attached and predischarge FET is on, you can expect PACK+ increase to near BAT+ very quickly. While if with a load, because of the huge cap, PACK+ increase slowly and you can measure a big gap between BAT+ and PACK+ after a fix time delay you turn on predischarge FET.

Please click "This resolved my issue" if no more questions.

    Thanks.

    Best Regards,
