Thanks for looking at that for me. I think the question wasn't clear enough, I was more asking is there an alternative to the TVS3300 that is designed for 110V DC system as I don't think a MOV will be able to handle the duty cycle of the back EMF of input sample.

Looking through the TI catalogue I don't think there is anything in the TVS series that would usable. Any help?

are you planning to control a motor with trapezoidal waveform as shown in the motor control compendium page 61?

Common practice is to scale down a higher voltage (>60V) with a resistor divider in the front-end (see ISO121x figure 21).
Another alternative is the use of a resistor with a zener diode as shown in figure 22. The better solution is dependent on the input signal.

Can you comment a bit more on your application as the required 1500V seems above what we usually see. What is the DC link voltage for your motor?
