PSPICE-FOR-TI: License issue

Hi Miao,

Please advise the user to work with his IT support to see if his computer is directly connected to the internet. The tool needs internet connection to renew the license every 30 days.

The computer must be able to see https://cdsplicwc.cadence.com/chws/test/connection.html.

Hi Miao,

Please also ask the user to follow these steps to create a log file and share that with us.

1. Create a new environment variable called “CDS_LIC_QA_TesT” and set it to a text file like this:
2. Close and launch PSpice for TI and run a simulation. The file will be created. As soon as you see the error, close the tool.
3. You can now rename the environment variable to something else or just deleted it so the log file won’t keep growing.

Please share the file with us.

I was the same problem. Maybe this help.

When I logined into myTI account and saved my personal information without any modification, then the issue went away.

   In addition, there is strange issue when my customer test. These  are he listed:

  " Why can my previous files be opened and run in PSPICE, but the new downloaded files can not run? After I open my old file and confirm that it works normally. Open the PSPICE file of opa2735 just downloaded from the official website:

OPAx735 PSpice Model (Rev. E)。 It can be opened, but it cannot be run. Click Run to exit. Later, I copied the opax735 in it to my old file, and the old file could not be executed correctly. However, it would not exit. It just said: circuit error, run aborted. Look at the screenshot image"

The OPA model lib is not installed.

Hi Miao,

The user needs to specify the model file for OPAx735. This can be done in simulation settings. An example would be the setting in the OPA2735 downloaded from ti.com:

However, it'll work if you just specify the C:\cds_spb_home\cdssetup\pspTILibDir\nom_pspti.lib file which already include the OPAx735 model:

    Good day!

    1) Have connected successful to link: https://cdsplicwc.cadence.com/chws/test/connection.html      

    2) Have installed the LIB file as you suggested.  Copy the opa2735 model to the old file folder, it can run and display correctly.  However, if  save as a new file. There will be no any display of voltage, current and power!  Sometimes the PSPICE exit suddenly.  Do you think what we do wrong?

3) We also check file name has no space and special characters. Is there anything else that causes this problem？

Let's focus on 1 issue at a time. The license issue first. Please take a look at this page: https://support.cadence.com/apex/ArticleAttachmentPortal?id=a1O3w000009xx1UEAQ&pageName=ArticleContent.

Please make sure the system is directly connected to the internet. Run the tool outside of VPN if there is one.

    My customer think the issue of exit suddenly is caused by the license.  Do you think it is another issue?

     We have try to access to the  https://support.cadence.com/apex/ArticleAttachmentPortal?id=a1O3w000009xx1UEAQ&pageName=ArticleContent.  The cadence need register to log in ,but the customer failed to register with no host ID. We cannot get any documents in cadence web.

    We also focus on the issue of the license, The customer have tried at the other PC for the license can support up to 3 PC. He still failed also, and can not simulate the model in PSPICE for TI.

   We are very helpless now. Could you kindly review the issue again and suggest us further step by step?

Hi Miao,

The page simply says that for this type off error, "User needs to connect to internet once in every 30 days to continue using Capture PSpice for TI application. Also the license is valid for 1 year from the installation and user need to renew the license after 1 year".

Did the IT department provide any insight?
