How to add traces to a plot. Yes, that sounds like a dumb question but I am completely stuck

I have a model with imported components. I understand that if I don't have any markers, then I get the error about too many markers, so I add a marker and everything runs. On the trace plot I see a trace, cool. If I click on "Add Trace" there are about five other traces available. All of them superimpose on the same trace. Hmm..

I go to Edit Simulation Settings and choose Data Collection. I change voltage, current from "All but Internal Variables" to "All". Try again. Nope. Still can only see the five traces. The option to select Current is greyed out, the option to select Voltage is not grey. If I unclick the voltage checkmark then all five of my voltages disappear.

How do I ask the code to save more [e.g. all] of the variables so that I can plot them?

Thanks, John

  • Hi John,

Are you exclusively using TI parts and idealized components, or are you using any imported models?

    Thank you,

    Jackie

  • Hi John,

If you are using imported models, then PSpice for TI only allows a limited number of probes. PSpice for TI is offered for free to our customers in order to simulate our products, so we only allow limited functionality with competitor's models. If you would like additional functionality, we would recommend purchasing the commercial SPB from Cadence at pspice.com

    Thank you,

    Jackie
