We are working on a sink only application.

For TPS25750, our design is configured to default to NegotiateHighVoltage using ADCIN pins however we would prefer to have more control over this.

Is it possible to default to Safemode (thereby disabling battery charging) then send I2C command to switch to negotiate highest voltage when we are ready?

What I2C command would we use?

I would need some time to look at this. In the meantime, try looking through the GPIO events to see if any matches your criteria.

You can use GSrC (Get Source Capabilities) or GSkC (Get Sink Capabilities) to negotiate voltage. If the highest PDO is needed, then it will be negotiated.

So there isn't a single command to negotiate highest voltage equivalent to setting ADCIN1 and ADCIN2 to NegotiateHighVoltage mode?

The process for sink only application would be:

1) Write GSrC (Get Source Capabilities) to CMD1 register 0x08

2) Read Byte1 of DATA1 register 0x09 check == 0 (successfully completed)

3) Read RX_SOURCE_CAPS register (0x30) that will have been updated

..Then how does the sink send a request?

Hi Kiran,

I would need to check the technical reference manual to see if such command exist. In the meantime, I recommend taking a look at the GPIO events and see if there are any that matches this case. I'll get back to you next week.
