TIDA-050002 High Beam and Low Beam Design Clarififcation

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-050002, TPS92692

Hi Texas,

I have a requirement to design a two wheelers Head Lamp electronic design-BIFUNCTIONAL PROJECTOR,

  • Number of LEDs : 4 LEDs for Low beam ; 3 LEDs for High beam (1-1-1 or 1-2-1 configuration)
  • Total LED flux for low beam = 1400 lm(350 lm/LED) (Osram KW.CELNM2 LEDs are considered for simulation)
  • Total LED flux for high beam = 900 lm(300 lm/LED)
  • During LB is turned ON HN shouldn't be operated and HB is operated LB should also be operated.
  • The LED selected are 1000mA min of 300lm.

Query: 1. Will the TIDA-050002 Design reference can be taken for developing a bifunction projector Where both HB and LB can be operated together and also can it be operated separately.?

Query 2: If in future if require to go for a hybrid or analog dimming can I use this reference design for a stand alone DC-DC/Linear LED drivers with no microcontrollers?

Query 3: Does this reference design has details about the diagnostics like Open circuit or short circuit and (n-1) approach.

Please clarify the same, if any new referende design is available for the HB nad LB please send it to us.

Thanks,

Vishnu
