TIDA-050047: Both Sinking and Sourcing at 20V/3A?

Hello,

My team and I are designing a portable battery which charges and discharges via USB-C. We would like to know if this design is capable of sourcing 20V/3A from the battery.

The 5V/5A buck is somewhat confusing to me in the diagram. From what I can tell, the 5V/5A buck outputs to power the TPS25750 and the LDOs attached to it. It also can output to the device attached to the battery.

Is the TPS25750 capable to telling the BQ25792 to source 20V/3A to the device?

Hi John,

The EVM is capable of sourcing up to 60W (20V/3A0 and sinking up to 100W (20V/5A). You will need to configure the PD controller to include a source PDO for the PD to be able to provide 60W sourcing.

If you're using the online GUI, please note there is known bug on v7.0.3 that causes communication issue between the TPS25750 and the BQ25792.
