Isolated Gate driver

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPSI3052-Q1, TPSI3052, TPSI3050-Q1

Hello Team,

We are looking for Automotive Reinforced Isolated Switch Driver with Integrated 15-V Gate Supply alternate part for TPSI3052-Q1.

Kindly, help us finding the part.

Thank You,

Suma

  • Hello Suma,

Thank you very much for reaching out.

TPSI3052-Q1 is a new and innovating solution in which driver and supply are integrated within the same device. I do not believe we have an alternate part for TPSI3052-Q1 at the moment.

Out of curiosity, I was wondering if there is a specific reason why you are trying to find an alternate part for the TPSI3052-Q1? Is the device missing some features that your design requires ? Are some of the specifications in your system different from the ones the device offers?

    Sincerely,

    Francisco Lauzurique

  • Hi Francisco,

    Thank you for reply.

As this part is not much available, we want alternate part as the customer are asking. Please, help us finding.

  • Hi Suma,

It is a pleasure to meet you and welcome to the E2E forums Slight smile

The TPSI3052-Q1 is finishing the release-to-market process and will start to become available with production supply next week. Order entry will become open for purchase orders (POs) either directly or through distributors in standard/minimum quantities (1ku) for TPSI3052QDWZRQ1.

Lower volume samples or purchases will become available on TI.com though quantities and availability may vary. Please subscribe to the product folder to get notified of any changes.

In the meantime, I believe some samples are available of the industrial grade version, TPSI3052, which will behave the same for evaluation purposes.

We also have a footprint compatible device with lower gate voltage output (10V), TPSI3050-Q1 here:

    Thanks!

  • Hi Alex,

TPSI3052-Q1 Pspice model is not working it is showing error. Kindly, help me finding the error and solve the issue.

  • Hello Suma,

Thank you very much for reaching out.

There are a few issues that could be happening here, but I am not sure what is this source of this error in your side. I downloaded the files and I was able to simulate the device without issues. I will share general best practices to help you debug this issue.

1- Place a large value resistor between the primary ground and the secondary side. Sometimes you can observe convergence issue when having floating grounds.

2- Use Initial Conditions (IC) when having floating nodes between capacitors.

    3- Use auto-convergence settings.

4- Ensure you have included the library location for the TPSI3052-Q1

    Schematics and Waveforms included

Let us know if this answers all your questions.

    Sincerely

    Francisco Lauzurique

  • Hi Francisco,

Thank you for guiding in pspice. Kindly, suggest alternate part for TPSI3052-Q1 so that will be helpful. And if your find the similar function component that will helpful i want to run the simulation in PSIM as per customer requirement for this part it is through error. Solve this error we will continue with this part. The error it is showing is

AND2 is not present in the subcircuit.

    Thank you,

    Suma

  • Hello Suma,

AND2 is not present in the subcircuit.

Is this error showing in PSPICE For TI? Can you please share your circuit so I can try to recreate it.

  • Hi Tilden

Is this error showing in PSPICE For TI? Can you please share your circuit so I can try to recreate it.

I am getting this error in Lt-spice. As per the customer requirement they need simulation result in PowerSIM. Kindly, help me solve this issue. This is what i getting error.

    Thank You,

    Suma

  • Hi Tilden

    • I am getting error in PSPICE.  I am attaching test file in this message. Kindly, help me to solve this issue.

  • Hello Suma,

TI does not support simulation in LTSpice. These models have been created for and verified with PSpice for TI:

The following zipped project works for me. e2e-suma-3052.zip

Make sure you're referencing the following library for TPSI3052-Q1. slvmdv1b.zip

  • Hi Tilden,

This is what i am getting error.

Kindly, can we have meeting to solve this issue so that will be helpful for me.

    Regards,

  • Hello Suma,

I sent a private message to schedule a meeting. Can you please also confirm your configured files in simulation settings looks like the following image?

  • Hello Suma,

I was able to recreate the errors when I opened your file here:

    TPSI3052.DSN

Removing the nom_pspti.lib file from the simulation settings fixed that error and I was able to simulate the circuit.
