TIDA-020032: Why use 50Hz PWM for the auto-addressing signal?

Part Number: TIDA-020032

Hi,

I was interested in the method of CAN auto-addressing used in this reference design and I was wondering why the auto-addressing signal sent from one board to the next was a 50Hz PWM. Does the receiving board detect only something within 50Hz +/- some tolerance as a valid auto-address signal to make it less susceptible to noise or is there some other reason?

Many thanks,

Neil
