PSPICE-FOR-TI: Too many machines attempting to connect with the same access key

Part Number: PSPICE-FOR-TI

I was trying to update my 2020 PSPICE by uninstalling the old one first. Now that I try to install the new one I failed during authentication. Is there a way to resolve this?

On similar note, is there a more streamlined way to update PSPICE other than uninstall-reinstall cycle? It's a bit tedious especially with the required reboot twice.

  • Hi ArdWar,

You will be prompted to upgrade once a new version is available. There's no need to uninstall and install manually.

    Thanks,

    JC

  • Well, apparently the prompt never shows up for me. The only indication is the "newer version available" at the start screen.

Learning from other similar thread, apparently the license also need to be released from server side too when reinstalling. Can you help with it please?

  • Hi ArdWar,

    Are you talking about this?

If so, close and restart and this should come up, just click the install button, there's no need to uninstall the old version first:

Have you switched to another PC? Upgrading on the same machine does not require the license to be released.

  • I think the last time these prompts come up it only update the libraries, not the software itself.

Have you switched to another PC? Upgrading on the same machine does not require the license to be released.

It is the same PC. Although depends on how exactly the license is anchored with, it might detect things as new. MAC address, GPT/MBR UUID or even OS/System UUID for example might already change from the last time I install PSPICE.

Authentication passes now, so I guess I'll mark this one as solved(?)

  • Hi ArdWar,

No, library update prompt looks like this instead:

Yes, hardware change may cause license renewal to be necessary.

You can pass the authentication probably because the previous machine information has been purged. If any of your other installations fail to launch, please reinstall.

    Thanks,
    JC
