ERROR MESSAGE - How to Respond?

I'm getting this PSPICE error message

.....

INFO(ORPSIM-16594): To improve Pseudotransient Convergence and Performance, set following options to relax stabilization criteria for capacitor currents and inductor voltages: PTRANABSTOL=1e-5, PTRANVNTOL=1e-4
.....

The PSPICE circuit is stable with output loads down to zero ohms (R20 R50). But when R20 and R50 exceed 1200 ohms, the circuit goes unstable and latches up and gives the error message above. I have a physical model on the bench and it does not latch up when the output resistance is raised past 1200 ohms (open circuit).

How do I modify PSPICE so that the circuit works with >1200R output loads (or an open circuit output) ?

  • Hi John,

You may share the simulation file so we can take a look at it on our side.
I assume R20 and R50 increase are the ones causing the error to show up, correct?
I'm lacking understanding of the purpose of each of the components in the circuit, however it may be worth testing different values on the resistors at the output (R20, R33, R46 for U6)
