TIDA-020047: Flashing prebuilt TDM demo for AM273x failed

Hi Brian,

I modified the uart uniflash application to read from the flash the data block written in the QSPI flash to second UART, I found that it's always equal to 0xEE, the data stored in QSPI was corrupted.

I tried also to make erase flash command then write an application and I get the same result.

The boards we produced based on TIDA-020047 are able to flash images successfully in flash mode without other modifications that I am aware of. I am concerned this may be a hardware issue on your board.  There is an issue regarding the watchdog timer that may shut down device functionality prematurely sometimes but that can be circumvented by placing a 1000 ohm resistor on the right side of the 3rd row of the pin holes on the back of the board like in the picture below. That modification is not supposed to be necessary for flash mode but you may try to see if it helps with your problem. In the meantime I will discuss with hardware team for options how to validate your board. Thank you for your patience

Hi Buhiyan,

We produced the board and we are facing issue with flashing the QSPI memory after writing data I read always 0xEE.

When producing the board we get all the resistor solderd in the board and we already removed one them to make the flash booting mode working and we get the traces from the bootloader.

Could you share with us the list of resistor that should be removed to have the correct hardware configuration for the board TIDA-020047 ?

Hi Amine,

There is a BOM on the TIDA-020047 page that indicates which parts should/should not be populated.  What FLASH device did you install?

GD25Q64CW2G and MX25V1635FZUS03.

I had a look on the BOM and I think that I have to remove all parts that have quantity esqual to 0.

Please confirm if I should do so ?

Hi Amine,

That is correct.  If the BOM quantity is zero, those parts should not be installed.  Also, you should remove R49 as we have previously discussed.

I removed all the parts which have the quantity zero from a new board and I have the same issue.

I get the same error when flashing the device with the prebuilt binaries.
