TIDA-010054: questions about the PLECS model of dual active bridge

Part Number: TIDA-010054

I have one question about the topology of the Dual active bridge, In the simuation, I see the primary side and secondary side filters include the small capacitors. Is it to mimic the Mosfet Parasitic capacitance? Besides, I can not run the simulink embedded plecs file. So could the admin send me one copy of the standalone PLECS files. In addition, Is there any references for these two plecs models, such as based on the journal papers or conference papers.

Thank you so much.

  • Hi,

Thanks for reaching out. The capacitors on the switch node, are DC blocking capacitors, which block any DC contents which could saturate the transformer over time. These DC contents can be caused by asymmetries in the PWM signals or gate drivers in the actual design. Or simulation files are generated with PLECS blockset, but they can be imported easily into PLECS standalone.

The content of the MATLAB parameters.m file can be copied into the PLECS initialization file.

We will be publishing a PLECS standalone version of our simulations within the next weeks as well.

An overview over different phase shift modulations can be found in https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/6658916

The dual-phase-shift modulation in our simulation is closer to the EPS described in this paper.

    Best regards,
    Andreas
