Design solution for IoT application

Exploring a potential device design for a client with the following top-level requirements.

  1. Must have Bluetooth connectivity.
  2. Must have LTE-M connectivity.
  3. Must have GPS connectivity.
  4. Size:-  about the diameter of a US quarter( ~25mm) and thickness about 3 quarters stacked together

Does TI have any suggestions on how this can be achieved? Potential Chip sets (SoC, SiP, modules etc) that can be used.

  • Hi Kweku,

Without being an expert in most of the standards in question: TI does not offer GPS or LTE-M connectivity solutions, so you would consider using an TI ARM-based processor as a host connected to a TI BLE product and third-party GPS/LTE-M products.  Given the sizes of these products and the antennas required to support the varying frequency of each standard, the overall solution will require more space than the area of a US quarter (462 mm2).
