Compare both board. Why the PMP10110 reference design need to add extra device ucc27714 to driver MOS? Is the reason LM5039 has insufficient driving capability?

    Hi Jimmy,

    The reason is in the capability of the LM5039 to drive directly external FETs but only when the power stage is supplied with high-side drain voltage < 105V (see LM5039 datasheet). Since the input voltage of this DC/DC stage (half-bridge) is 390V nominal, the LM5039 cannot support this high voltage and I had to add an external gate driver UCC27714, which supports maximum 600V.
