TIDA-01063: TIDA-01063

Part Number: TIDA-01063

It is required to measure AC current (630A peak, 50 Hz) using PCB Rogowski coil. It will be greatly appreciated if you clear the following queries:

  1. Purpose of slit in the PCB Rogowski coil (TIDA-01063)?
  2. Purpose of earthing trace (Thick trace) around the outer circumference of PCB?
  3. Methods to reduce the interference or cross talk with the nearby current carrying conductors?
  4. Impact of self-inductance and Parasitic Capacitance on the induced voltage measurement and in its error?

Thans and regards,

V Janaki Ramaiah.

  • Hello,

In this reference design we have mainly focused on the design of the analog front-end using a precision instrumentation amplifier and delta-sigma ADC to achieve very good linearity for wide measurement range at very low system BOM cost.

The Rogowski coil design considerations can be found in the user guide from page 7 to page 13.

    Thanks
