MSP430 Programming issue

Hey Jim,

I'm not sure.  I guess it could be a firmware issue, but most tools that interface with the MSP-FET should automatically check and update the firmware if needed.  What software tool are you using on the PC?  As, what MSP are you trying to program?  

If possible, I'd recommend using a different software tool as a test and sometimes the switch will help trigger the automatic firmware update.  Usually I recommend customers briefly try CCS or Uniflash to see if they get prompted for a firmware update.

The software I am using is Fet-Pro430 (Fet MSP430 Flash Prog) by Elpotonic Inc 3.3-0 and the MSP I'm trying to program is a MSP430F2330.

Hey Jim,

In that case, I would recommend trying out CCS or Uniflash, just to see if you can program and if it'll automatically update the programmer's firmware for you.  There is even an online version of Uniflash you can try: https://dev.ti.com/uniflash/#!/ 

Try one of these out and let us know how it goes.

ok I did load the uniflash and attempted to load my image but I get a proxy error and I don't know how to fix it.

JD the online version does not work where can I get the CCS or Unflash software?

I found the Uniflash programming software but the program does not detect any devices with my MSP430F2330 connected up and powered.

Hey Jim,

Have you been able to program any devices with this new programmer? 

What exact error are you seeing?  Does it just say "device not found"?
