Ti model library in PSpice for Ti

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74HC595B

Hi,

Just downloaded the PSice for Ti and started a practice design to become familiar with the tool. The simulation I am trying to create uses a 74HC595 SIPO shift register and a couple of gates. In Pspice for Ti I was not able to find the 74HC595 or any derivates.

I watched the training video on how to import 3rd party libraries but found when I go to cadence Pspice web site, I am able to find the component on the list of models, but I do not have access to download the libraries as show in the video.

1) I understood from the forum posts that PSipce for Ti includes "most" of the Ti product libraries, what do I need to do to load them?

2) How do I get access to the Cadence Pspice libraries?

Thanks

  • Hi Hilton,

I see that the SN74HC595B has an IBIS model, but it doesn't seem like any of the variants (A, B, -EP, -SP, Q) have a PSpice model. Since this is an interface device, an IBIS model makes sense.

The model at Cadence may only be available to the commercial version, SPB. You could ask Cadence where the model is available for download. They should be able to help you with that.

Alternatively, you could look at a competitor's offering to see if they have a PSpice model, and then import that.

Let's see what the product line has to say.

  • Hi Hilton,

Please see the attached zip which has a spice file for the HC595 from nexperia. We don't currently have a spice model for this part.

Unfortunately I'm not familiar on how to access cadence libraries, I'd follow up on David's advice and ask them.

    Best,

    Malcolm
