Hello E2E,
I'm having a difficult time trying to simulate a webench design (link right under this line) on tina ti. My tina schematic is attached. In this design, I'm applying 220V AC at 50hz and aiming for output volage of 17V DC and current 5A.
webench.ti.com/.../SDP.cgi
I did my best on using the exact components as given in the design and importing missing components fromauthentic sources. Everytime I run the transient analysis I get the convergence error as shown in the photo attachment. In the error window, it shows that the error is associated with a component (D6 in the attached photo). When I try to figure out what's wrong with the associated component I end up either changing its parameters or importing another model of the same component, when I run the transient analysis again, I get the same convergence error but with a diffrent associated component, and this loop just keeps going in and on...
How do I really figure out what is wrong?
I checked the first stage of the design which is the ac to dc conversion and it worked perfectly, the output signal was 218V DC. But how do I check what is wrong with the rest ofthe circuit? everything is connected together and it seems I can't test discrete blocks by their own.
How should I approach this problem?
Final comment: can somebody check whether I had the three windings transformer put correctly? I used three discrete inductors and coupled them with a coupling ratio of 1. And because in the design it says the turn ration is 23:9 and Lp=98u, I set Lsec and Laux at 15u to satisfy the formula (Lpri/Lsec)=(Npri/Nsec)^2. The dots being abcent from the coupling configration is puzzeling me, is there a way to show them?
Thanks for your help,
Samer
