Hello, TI engineer
I upgraded "PSpice for TI" last week. When I tried to launch Pspice for TI, the "PSpice part search" and "modeling App"window is blank. Then, I upload the TI part models by going (Help>"Reinstall TI Models and libraries"), the model lib is still invalid.
So I uninstalled the "Pspice for TI" completely, and download latest revisoin of Pspice for TI, after installed, it still couldn't work due to the model lib is invalid. I repeat several times regarding reinstalling "PSpice for TI" and reloading "TI Models and libraries", it still couldn't work.
Detailed information as below
1. Launch “PSpice for TI” after reinstalled.
2. Loading "sclm11t" provided by TI CST - Joselito Go via “File ->Open->Project->SN74LV4051A.OPJ”, model lib is invalid.
3. Reloading model lib by going “Help-> Reinstall TI models and libraries”, then, restart it, and wait for several minutes until library configuration is finished.
4. Reloading "sclm11t", the model lib is still invalid.
5. Check the capture and pspice lib-path based on capture/pspice lib configuration, don't find any issue.
BTW,
It appears that many users are experiencing the same problem, they are waiting for a reply, see following link.
Appreciate you could help to solve the problem.
Best regards
Hailong
Hailong,
Would you please share the project sclm11t?
What if you click this button?
BTW, please do not resize your screenshots. They are illegible.
My library folder looks like this:
-JC
Hello, JC
1. The project sclm117 is only for double check, even if create a new project, the model lib is still invalid.
2. The screenshot as below when click the button.
3. Library folders sorted by date are not the same as what you shared, I don't know why. Our colleagues have the same problem after installed latest version of "PSpice for TI",
Best Regards
Hailong
Hailong,
Your pspTILibDir is correct for a fresh install.
Would you please check if you have a Windows environment variable "CDS_HOME"?
Also, please share the content in the command window tab after starting PSpice for TI:
Thanks,
JC
Hi Hailong,
Please check the following:
Could you check if you have write permissions over the CDSSETUP path located at CDS_HOME location.
Also try changing the CDS_HOME to other directory and relaunch the tool.
David
Hello, David
Thanks a lot for your support.
Not sure if I understood your proposal correctly.
1. Does it mean I have write permissions over the CDSSETUP path?
2. After change environment variable "CDS_HOME from "C:\cds_spb_home" to "D:\ChenHL\Simulation", and reloading model lib by going “Help-> Reinstall TI models and libraries”. Launching “PSpice for TI”, the model lib still couldn't work as below.
Best Regards
Hailong
Hi Hailong,
I have the same question with you. I guess David means to check the properties of this path.
When I checked it, it didn't have write permission. Then I changed it and relaunched the PSpice For TI. It still has the same problem.
I think you can try it too.
Note: my computer language is Chinese.

Hello David and Yuliya
Thanks a lot for criticism.
My snapshot as below
TBH, I needn't consider these configurations for previous version of "PSpice for TI" before upgrading.
Best Regards
Hailong.
Hi Hailong,
JC is out today and I'd really like to get his input on this. Let me also make sure he isn't taking tomorrow and next week off (next week is Spring Break for Texas school-children).
David
Hailong,
I just updated my library and it looks like this now:
If you can do this same and it still does not display correctly, there must be something wrong with the configuration. have you switched to a different user login before/after upgrading and uninstall/install the software?
thanks,
JC
Hello, JC
I can find all documents as you mentioned, but the update time are different.
Today I gain access to the PSPICE-FOR-TI simulator with another account, after installing it on another desktop, the model lib still does not display.
TBH, I don't get you point regarding" switched to a different user login before/after upgrading and uninstall/install the software". I had shared many users encountered the same issue, which means different users/computers have the same issue.

If you want to check if there are any differences between your software and mine, please install the same source file after uninstalling your "PSpice for TI.
The new lib displays as below after installing today.

Hello, JC
It seems that many Chinese users are experiencing the same problem, and hasn't been solved yet.

Hi Hailong,
We are experimenting the installation with one user and will let you know what can be done.
thanks,
JC
Hi JC,
Yes, there are a lot of users in the Chinese forum who are experiencing this problem, they are all having problems updating the software to version 2024. Several users thought this should not be a PC issue and they suggested checking if the 2024 version of the software is a problem with the configuration program.
Best Regards,
Amy
Hi Hailong,
What are the contents of your LibraryUpdate.log file? You showed that in your file structure. C:\cds_spb_home\cdssetup
Mine looks like this:
David
Hello, David
The path of "Library Update" is slightly different from yours
Best Regards
Hailong
You have it right. I noticed that I left off the pspTILibDir in the path after posting. Glad you noticed.
So, it looks like the library has updated correctly. I think I'll bump this to Cadence then. You've got the library, size is correct, update is successful.
David
Cadence had some follow up questions that I had submitted to others, but they haven' responded.
Can you check on the following?
1. Share an image showing that TI parts are not getting loaded.
2. What is the language setting on these machines ?
3. share the capture.ini file from the user. Check the path of capture.ini in session log.
Regards,
David
Hello, David
1. Please have a look at enclosed snapshot.
2.Windows 10 Pro default language is English.
3. The Capture.ini file is copied to a word document, please see following link, and the path of capture.ini is correct.
/cfs-file/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/234/Capture.ini-_2D00_-Copy.docx
Best regards
Hailong.
Thank you for the quick response. I've forwarded this on to Cadence. Doesn't seem like there's anything here to cause this problem, but let's see what they come up with.
David
Here's the suggestion from Cadence. Please try and report on the results:
Please try clearing the workspace in registry and sed if it helps. For this:
If problem still persists, please confirm the following:
Hello, David
Thanks a lot for your kindly support.
23.1.0 folder was delegated, after launching "Pspice for TI", it still couldn't work.
It seems that only .db file is present in $cds_spb_home\cdssetup\pspTILibDir\, please help to double check them in the following snapshot (sort by type).
Best regards
Hailong.
I also encountered this issue and am surprised that it has been reproduced by so many users.
Look forward to a valid solution :)
Hi Hailong,
Sorry for the delay. Several others were able to resolve this be re-installing, but I think you've tried that to no effect.
I'll review further and get back to you on Monday.
David
Hello, David
Thanks a lot for your kindly support.
You are right, I reinstalled it severial times, and no effect, even if installed it on a new laptop.
Best regards
Hailong
Hi Hailong,
I'm going to pull Cadence in to help with this (they've been assisting remotely).
Where are you located? And what is your availability to have a webex/zoom call?
David
Hello, David
Thanks a lot for your kindly support.
I work in Jiading, Shanghai, China. it is convenient for us to have a zoom call from 9: 00 to 5:00.
I don't know what's the time difference between the two places, could you share your location and available time?
Best regards
Hailong.
Hi hchen:
Refer the address below, change to the version the pspice for TI 2023 , It's useful ,you can use the version 2023 until TI Solve the Problem.
PSpice for TI中PSpice Part Search空白_pspice for ti 23.1-CSDN博客
By the way,Thanks to the author of the Blog
Looks like you've found the instructions to install the older version (17.4). I'm glad it is working.
We'll continue trying to debug why the install isn't reliable for the China area for 23.1.
23.1 includes important upgrades such as built in library of ~1000 models for MOSFET, BJT, and diodes.
I'm going to move this out of OPEN, but I won't close it.

David
Hello, David
Thanks a lot for your kindly support.
Looking forward to your good news before upgrading to the new version (23.1).
Best regards
Hailong
Hi David
Seems there are many users meet this problem.
However, down version using is not longtern solution.
Any about the Cadence released new version schedule?
Regards,
Cheney
Hi Cheney,
This is a frustrating problem. I've requested guidance and a call with Cadence to raise awareness.
If we do get a solution that doesn't require a patch, do you have a suggestion for how best to spread that news?
David
Hi David
Thanks for take the time.
If you find a way to solve this problem.
Best way is update the PSPICE version that is why I ask about the schedule.
Or
You have some manual operating method, please update this post and attach another link on E2E like other expert did.
I think someone like me, will search "model lib" or "model issue" to find how to setting.
So do you have any further plan or advice on this frustrating issue?
Regards,
Cheney
Hi David
This problem is very serious! I have conducted experiments in VMware, where Windows 10 Enterprise Edition (Chinese) was newly installed and PSpice for TI (2024) was newly installed, but the PSpice Part Search was still blank.
If this problem cannot be solved in a short time, why can't we go back! This really affects the user experience.Thanks.
Thank you for testing this. I've escallated this with Cadence. The normal ticketing system isn't geared towards this kind of wide-spread problem. I've asked them to propose a process to get this resolved.
Here's a solution that has worked with another person having the library issue:
Add lang=en-US to orCEFSettings.ini
That file is in the Cadence install location.
My path: C:\Users\a0187457\Documents\PSpice_TI\Cadence\PSpice_TI\tools\bin
David
I just tested using Vmware.
Newly installed PSPICE-FOR-TI, not added, PSPICE part search still not available.
After adding, open again and the PSpice part search will be displayed! Thank you.
Hello,David
Tahanks a lot for your effort.
Newly installed PSPICE-FOR-TI works normaly, good news for Chinese users.
Best regards
Hailong
Can you open a separate e2e question. Seems like your issue is different, and I'd like to be able to track it more effiiciently.
David
