Missing TINA files

I tried to use a THS3201 or THS4275 in a TINA circuit design but found that there was only a P-SPICE model--- NO model, no symbol, and no circuit example for TINA. I do not have time to create these and I daresay other customers do not, either.

What is the point of promoting such a valuable design tool as TINA if TI does not bother to furnish the necessary information to make use of it? This seems to be a recurrent problem with the line of High Speed Op Amps. Another problem with this line of op amps is  that if there is a TINA op amp symbol, the power supply pins are not in the same place as the traditional TI precision op amps.

    Let me start by saying that a lot of us do appreciate what you've done and continue doing to help us identify areas we are lacking.

    Because of TI’s broad product portfolio, there isn’t a single software solution that suits all the market segments we serve. As the need for simulation at the system level emerged (some areas earlier than others), different groups selected the tools suitable for their particular needs. The decision to converge on TINA was made long after that, hence it is no surprise that not all product area have the same level of product coverage when it comes to simulation models for TINA. It is also no surprise that certain conventions differ from group to group, often times resulted from pure personal tastes. The power supply pins on symbols you mentioned is one of them.

     

    Both are what we are actively working on to address, which unfortunately won’t happen overnight. For example, some of the choices made from personal tastes need to be looked at in a broader sense as we are covering more product areas, what favored by some may prove to be irritating for many, while following the crowd is the obvious choice, we need to think about the legacies as well.

    So what you are saying is that no one at TI is managing the overall customer support.

    Of course there is no one software solution that suits TI's broad product line-- no one thinks there can be.

    It reflects poorly on TI that its analog products-- no matter what division produces and supports them-- are not coordinated well enough to provide TINA models with consistent characteristics for its customers. A customer doesn't know or care about the various TI divisional responsibilities-- only in the available products and the tools necessary to use them.
