How to delete user defined function in post-processor?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI

I created some user defined functions in the post-processor for one of my schematics, and later on I deleted the relevant nodes.  Now whenever I run the analysis, it still tries to plot the old user defined functions and says 'line edit: syntax error' Is there a way to keep this from happening?

Thanks,

Perry

  • Go back into the post-processor and select the defined function from the list on the left - make sure the "User Defined" checkbox is checked to show your user defined functions. Click on the function, then press the Delete button.

  • that wasn't exactly the problem I was having, but close.  I think that I was actually seeing a bug where not all the user functions weren't being shown in the list because it was telling me there was errors in the line editor even there were no user defined functions (they were all deleted). My workaround was to copy the entire schematic into a new project and start over.

  • This bug is still in TINA-TI as described by Perry.  I was unable to find any workaround short of copy/pasting into a new schematic.  I wonder if DesignSoft's filled the hole in their unit tests here.

  • Hi Todd,

Can you provide an example (tsc file)? I went through the steps described by Perry using the current TINA-TI version (9.3.100.244 SF-TI) and wasn't able to duplicate it.

    Thanks,
    JC

  • Sorry, but I had no use for a broken .tsc and saved the repaired file over the old one.  I'm on  9.3.50.40 SF-TI and when I check for updates TINA-TI says none are found.  When I first filled in the export form to see if 9.3.100.244 is downloadable it failed with the error below.  A retry downloaded the same version of the installer (15.0.0.498) as I used to get the even older version my TINA-TI installation was updated from.  So, in practical terms, I guess I'd have to say 9.3.50.40 SF-TI is the actual current version until TI can make an update available.  I'm happy to try updating but a prerequisite is access to the newer bits.

Sorry! We're experiencing a server error.

  • Todd,
Understood. Please note the the check for updates function in TINA-TI will not give you a newer version of the software (executable). You still need to download and install manually to get the latest version.
Can you tell me how to find the installer version (15.0.0.498)? Not knowing that, I looked at the download file. The English version download file should be "sloc241c.zip", inside which there's one file "Tina90-TIen.exe" with the size of 88,126,259 bytes (not size on disk).
Let me know if that's not the case. Thanks,JC
  • Click the TINA-TI link auto-inserted in any of the posts above and choose download.  sloc241c.zip contains the installer version mentioned.
