Part Number: TIDA-050047
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: USB-PD-CHG-EVM-01, TPS25750, TPS25751

Hello,

My customer has questions about the TIDA-050047.

Q1. Is the board used in 'Design Guide: TIDA-050047' the same board as USB-PD-CHG-EVM-01?

Q2. If the TPS25750 Application Customization Tool is not available, could you please share the default settings?

Thank you.

JH

  • Hello,

Q1. Is the board used in 'Design Guide: TIDA-050047' the same board as USB-PD-CHG-EVM-01?

    Yes.

Q2. If the TPS25750 Application Customization Tool is not available, could you please share the default settings?

The customization tool can be found here:

    https://dev.ti.com/gallery/search/tps25750

Please be advised that the TPS25750 is not recommend and the TPS25751 should be used.

    Regards,
    Chris

  • Hello Chris,

    Thank you for your reply.

Why did you recommend TPS25751 rather than TPS25750?

Like the USB-PD-CHG-EVM-01 board of the TPS25750, is there a Design Guide for the TPS25751 and a board they can test on themselves?

    Regards,

    JH

  • Hi JH,

The TPS25751 is the next iteration of the TPS25750 and provides improvement and/or fixes comparatively. There is an EVM for the TPS25751 available online, but I am not sure if there is a version of the EVM with this device + a BQ device. You may be able to combine them separately, or replace the device on an existing version with this device but Chris will need to speak more to this.

Additionally, due to the holiday in the US, many of the device experts are currently out of the office. When they return they will look into this and provide a response. Please expect some delay accordingly.

    Thanks,
    Field

  • Hello,

The TPS25750 has issues which will not be supported or fixed.  If you do not have any problems with the TPS25750 you may continue to use.

Please follow the EVM as a reference/design guide:

    https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/slvucp9a/slvucp9a.pdf

Currently the only BQ devices supported are those listed in the GUI tool.

    Regards,
    Chris
