PMP22151: looking for 24Vin to 24Vout/3A isolated reference design

Part Number: PMP22151
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5155

Tool/software:

Dear team,

Customer is looking for 24Vin to isolated 24Vout/3A reference design.

I found PMP22151 which is most close to their request. But still have some difference.

Did we have same design or how to modified it(with excel or design tool)?

Thanks,

Ben

  • Hi Ben,

We do not have a 24V variation on hand, but it looks like the design would still be fine with a 24V output without having to change components in the power stage. The current stresses may be a little higher, but the transformer was the hottest component looking at the thermal data.

For tools they can refer to the LM5155 product page for the default design calculators and SPICE models. We do not have any files made with the full PMP22151 design ready however.

Let me know if they have any questions on this.

    Thanks,

    John

  • Hi John,

Since customer don't have too much experience about xfmer design, to modify output to 24Vout, did they need to change xfmer spec?

or keep the same one then change Rfb is good enough?

    Regards,

    Ben

  • Hi Ben,

They should not need to change the transformer spec. Start with changing the Rfb, then they will have to re-evaluate the compensation to ensure the new design is stable with the new output voltage.
