PMP20657: Custom design PSFB with Bi-Directional Power Flow

Dear TI authority!

We are currently designing one power supply which can handle Bi-Directional Power Flow,

We are considered to use UCC28950 in PSFB mode for Buck mode in converter.
Boost mode will be achieved by microcontroller and keeping disable UCC28950 IC.

Queries:
1. For L1 is it ok to use TMCS1127B1AQDVGR like IC with appropriate ratting?

Hi Umang,

I am confused by your question, for L1 this needs to be a large power inductor. TMCS1127 is a hall based current sensor.

Also if you are planning to do bi-directional power and use a micro, we have another design that might be better for start.

This one uses a C2000 to control the power in both directions, so you don't need to use the UCC28950.

Okay, so you want to use the hall sensor instead of the current sense transformer, yes this is okay. You just need to make sure the sense level is correct.
