TIDA-010933: AC-DC lab test

Part Number: TIDA-010933

Tool/software:

Thanks to the team for creating such a great reference design.

Based on the design parameters of the project,

I see that TIDA-010933.3 has Vin 110~240VAC and 48Vout.

But after looking at the Software user guide, I don't see any test labs that do this.
So have you actually designed and tested this parameter?

  • Hello!

The HW design was done to support both DC-AC and AC-DC conversion. But we never tested the AC to DC power flow.

The input DC-DC and totem pole AC-DC stages should support the current flow without any changes, but need to reconfigure the syncronous rectification in CLLLC:

    1. Comparator for secondary current detection need to be reconfigured to use CS_CLLLC_PRI signal instead of CS_CLLLC_SEC.

    2.  LLC1(EPWM5) and LLC2(EPWM5) ePWM's Digital Compare modules should be configured to trip on Trip 12 and Trip 11 to stop syncronous rectification when there is no current in primary side. Please refer to the LLCSR PWM module config as a reference.

    Hope this helps!

Thank you and best regards, Seva.

  • thanks for your response.
furthermore, in DC-DC boost parts, it seems that there is no input power limit set here?

  • In the DC-DC boost the power is limited primarily by saturation current for the inductor so the input current is limited around 14A.

If you need more power, you can try to increase Fsw a little (300kHz) and solder VER2923-153KL inductor, but losses will be increased.
