TIDA-00779: Components selection for PFC

I have been referring to the latest revision of the TIDA-00779 3.5kW PFC design as of August 2024. It's an excellent piece of work, and I want to express my appreciation for the improvements made in this version.

I recently designed a similar circuits using the UCC28180, based on a previous revision of the TIDA-00779. However, I have a couple of clarifications regarding the updates in the new circuit.

Could you please provide some insights on the following points:

  1. Why the driver has changed from  UCC27531D to UCC27524DR? Is there any issue with  UCC27531D?
  2. In the latest BOM, some Wurth Elektronik part numbers are appear as wrong...that is a general issue with Wurth Elektronik part numbers while entering in excel. Can you give the exact part numbers for: C33, C4, C5, C18, S1...

    Glad you like the new version of TIDA-00779.

    Yes, we made some updates to fix those known issues. default gate driver is UCC27524 for its high drive current, however, UCC27531 can also be fine to be used on the board. 

    Sorry about those wrong part number, those are created by the PDF writer, I will try to fix it. 

    Pls check below spreadsheet, you can find the exact part number of WE parts.
