USB-TO-GPIO2: Read and Write GPIO's using Fusion Digital Designer

Part Number: USB-TO-GPIO2

Tool/software:

Hi Experts,

I'm using a USB-TO-GPIO2 to manipulate GPIO0 through GPIO7. I am interested in configuring and toggling GPIOs at the output of the ribbon cable.

Is there documentation describing using this USB Adapter as a simple GPIO manipulator? I don't have a device on the other end of the ribbon cable.

What section of the GUI should be used? Should I launch Fusion Digital Designer or UCD9XXX GUI? Fusion Digital Designer continues to crash when opening. Offline mode will launch but then I'm prompted to select a device on the other end of the ribbon cable, which there is none.

Thanks,
Matt

  • Hi Matt, We are looking into this and will get back to you

  • Hi Matt,

I discussed this with the team. The USB-TO-GPIO2 adapter has 5 GPIO pins that are configured as an Output for Control Lines #1- #5. You can assert these control lines as High or Low through the Fusion GUI's 'SMBUS & I2C & SAA Tool'. Unfortunately, the remaining 3 GPIO pins have not been configured for output or input on this adapter.

You can open the SMBUS tool directly from Windows application or you can open up an offline device and then navigate to the tool through the top menu bar

    Best regards.
