TIDA-010054: design modification question

Part Number: TIDA-010054

Tool/software:

Hi experts,

We have a customer who is interested in basing a design on the TI TIDA-010054 as below, could you please confirm if such changes are possible? Thank you

We are starting the design of a DAB converter for our application.

We would like to use TI TIDA-010054 as a base for our proof-of-concept design.

Our input voltage is 190-230 volts and output 625 volts, we planning to use our designed transformer and change the voltage dividers and current sensing and limits, and input MOSFETs to suite our conditions.

Could you please let us know if you think this can be done?

Best regards,

Hung

  • Hello Hung,

    Thanks for reaching out.
If the input voltage they will also need to change the transformer.
A dual active bridge relies on the fact that input to output voltage ratio is similar to the turns ratio of the transformer.
Otherwise soft-switching will be lost and efficiency will go down significantly.
I recommend a transformer with a turns ratio of 1:3 for your voltages.

    Best regards,
    Andreas
