Hi

I am using this Buck converter in my design, where Vin = 12V, Vout = 5V, Iout = 8A.

I m attaching pdf file of my design please suggest if any changes are required in this.

  • Hello Malik,

    • Mode pin is set up to 14A current limit, 800KHz DCM, if that is what you want that is good
    • VEN, i am not sure what that is connected, but please ensure that is not more than the abs max 6.5V, otherwise it will damage the device. recommended is 5.5V.
    • The same comment for PG pin, you need a pull up
    • The converter starts up in 1.2 ms since nothing is connected to SS pin. just make sure that is what you want for this design
    • The feedback resistors are NOT setting the device for 5V you need 10K in the bottom and 73.2K on the top to get 5Vo with 600mV reference
    • Please add place holder foot print for CFF you may need it to get more loop bandwidth
    •  COUT capacitors rating need to be at least 10V, recommended to use 16V since the VOUT is 5V.

    Thanks!

    Tahar
