Thanks for the report. I've sent it off to the developers to see what they have to say.
Yeah, it is most likely a Windows 7 Enterprise problem as the same model works on four XP computers. If I set TINA in "compatibility mode" on the Windows 7 Enterprise machine, it is more reliable, but rather than becoming non-responsive as posted before (with the Windows error details), it may lock up silently. The problem is with very long transient simulation and doesn't occur for 40 or so minutes of execution time (on an i7 box).
As further update of compatibility issues between TINA SPICE and Windows 7 (in compatibility mode), I have recently been battling cases where my transient simulation runs 50% through its 420uS run and causes a "floating point" or "floating point overflow" error. In the latest failure, the simulation ran for some time (approximately as mentioned before), then I got an error stateing "Exception EAccessViolation in module update.exe at 42E82000. Access violation at address 42E82000. Read error at address 42E82000.
The same model simulates on Windows XP Professional just fine.
Very frustrationg
Sorry to hear that. Again, if you can send us the .tsc file maybe we can help find the issue. Not sure what else to do at this point. If you don't feel comfortable posting the file, send to me via e-mail at downs underscore rick at ti dot com.
I will check about the sensitivity to sending the model.
Still, like I said before, the model runs on four other computers (including multi core computers) all running Windows XP Professional, so it is diffult to understand how this is a model problem. I did have floating point over flow problems with Tina Pro and it was fixed (revised about a week ago), but that fix didn't happen on TI TINA as its last revision date is early September.
