PMP20306: SGND and VMON OF PMP20306?

Hello,

I am working with the PMP23031 RevC board. Specifically, I am confused about the use of SGND and VMON. It is generated by PMP20306A board but it doesnt appear to be used on thePMP23031 board. It looks like the signals are being brought into the schematic but then nothing is touching them. Could you please explain the purpose of VMON and SGND in the PMP20306A board?

Hi Shruti,

The VMON winding is designed to provide input voltage sensing at the secondary side. VMON voltage level is proportional to Vin. This feature is used with other main board but not PMP23031.

Is it the same for SGND AND 5vs on the same board. They are also not being used?

Right, 5V was targeted to bias isolated DC-DC converter control circuit. But PMP23031 is just the PFC stage. So we don't use 5V here.

I have two queries :

1) I want to measure the temperature rise on LMG3522EVM-042 Board, the inherent temperature sensor on the board is giving me output in form of volTage, what is the voltage to temperature conversion factor, so that I could know the actual temperature rise?

2) what are these holes for on the PMP23031 RevC BOARD?

Hi Shruti,

#1: LMG3522R0x0 temp pin will generate a PWM. Based on PWM duty cycle, you can convert it to the actual temperature. Please refer to LMG3522R030 datasheet session 7.3.9.

#2: We leave an option on PMP23031 board to use customize GaN daughter card instead of EVM.
