TIDA-080004: security requirement on TMS320F28023

Part Number: TIDA-080004

Tool/software:

Hi Champs,

Now customer use TIDA-080004, and now they have requirement on cyber security: It is necessary to disable all unnecessary hardware external interfaces (such as JTAG, UART, I/O, USB, etc.) to protect the data in the memory, and ensure that there are no hidden interfaces for illegal access. And need secure boot to avoid attacking the system through external interfaces.

I think F28023 doesn't support this, so how can we meet customer's this requirement?

Thanks!

Julia

  • Hello ,

Thank you for reaching out and using the E2E forums! An expert from our team will review the thread and get back to you shortly.

  • Hi Julia,

Please see the TMS320F28023 datasheet's instructions on the CSM (code security module) which allows the user to program a 128-bit password into the flash.  In order  to access the secure blocks, the user must write the correct 128-bit key into the correct location in flash memory.  Please ensure the customer carefully reads the datasheet because there are caveats that and notes that should be taken into account, especially under section 9.1.9.

I see there is also something called C2000Ware, and a TI training site called C28 Academy under the downloads tab.  This could also be useful for understanding how to implement extra security features. Let me see if I can get this ticket reassigned to someone more familiar with C2000 MCUs since this solutions is more about how to enable CSM and other security features the chip provides.

  • Julia,

I would recommend to open a new ticket with the C2000 team.  They would be able to recommend the correct part to meet the security needs.  We are not experts on this topic on DLP side.
